Dover Street Market AW10

Dover Street Market hosted its seasonal Tachiagari earlier this week marking the launch of the new Autumn/Winter 2010 season.

London’s premier concept store is now showcasing new designer collections, spaces, installations and an exclusive window display by Adam Kimmel featuring the work of George Condo.

Housed on six floors in the heart of Mayfair, DSM is deliberately removed from the idea of a statically beautiful temple of consumption. Disorder dominates, with interior spaces that look as if the builders left prematurely. Customers are encouraged to investigate every nook for hidden gems. Makeshift huts appear temporary yet contain the operational tools for certain floors. On other levels, invited designers host their designated spaces. And, in the biannual Tachiagari that launches each season, they join the store in reconfiguring the building.

Some highlights for AW10 include:

• The opening of a new Yves Saint Laurent space designed for DSM
• Alber Elbaz’s latest creation for Lanvin on the Third Floor (above)
• New DSM Shoe and Bag space by Andy Hillman featuring bags from Fendi, Delvaux (exclusively in the UK), Roberta di Camerino, Judith Leiber plus many more
