Iconic British brand Mulberry has cemented its love for New York by opening its first standalone flagship store in NY’s trendy SoHo. Located on Spring Street, the store that was once home to a zipper factory, printers and book storage replicates some of the features found in the flagship store in Central London including the brass folly and monolithic service desk, and offers a fully immersive Mulberry shopping experience.
To celebrate the new store Mulberry has launched two limited edition bags – ‘The New York Clipper‘ with a “peace, love and apple” motif ($950 | £595) and an exclusive ‘Alexa’ bag made in Oak Ostrich with gold apple shaped rivets (only ten available $6250 | £4000).
Marking a landmark week for Mulberry the brand also celebrated its big 4-0 with a party held on the rooftop of Skylight West. Guests were treated to a 45 minute set by Kasabian that kicks-off the ‘Mulberry Mix Tape Tour‘ that will travel around the UK, Europe, the Far East and America.
The 40th birthday bash was rounded off with a DJ set by Associate Editor of Teen Vogue Andrew Bevan whilst guests including Maggie Gyllenhaal, Alexa Chung, Solange Knowles, Imogen Poots, Alexander Skarsgard and Lydia Hearst took part in a children’s tea party with make-up artists, balloon hats and party bags.
