Her first collection immediately received rave reviews and applause from the International fashion press and buyers.
The creative imprint of Kokosalaki’s aesthetic was immediately discernable: sculptural effects and elaborate details, draping, leather worked as cloth. The invention of fabric manipulating techniques gave her clothes the allure of uniqueness. Her inventive approach to construction and tailoring appealed to elegant and sophisticated women wishing to softly accentuate their femininity.
From the beginning, Sophia has been recognized and applauded internationally with various rewards, including the creation of the costumes for the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
Her collections always inspire modern women for there cool, urban femininity and sexiness, celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Cristina Ricci, Tilda Swinton, Jennifer Connelly, Julie Christie, Helen Mirren, Keira Knightley, Lou Doillon, Rinko Kikuchi, Dianne Kruger and Anne Hathaway.
In all her creations there is a visible foundation of her Hellenic heritage, re-interpreted with a contemporary approach.
