After studying her BA in Fashion Design at University in Korea, Mi Hyun Park took up residence as a Womenswear Designer for Korean label Handsome. Mi Hyun decided to return to education to broaden her design skills and develop her own design style. Her MA collection of tailored and elegant womenswear was heavily influenced by French film, ‘Le Grand Bleu’. Mi Hyun wanted to create a collection that expressed the fluidity of water, mimicking the shapes of garments as if they were under water. This feeling of fluidity is enhanced by her choice of fabric and the use of wire frames that emulate a jellyfish-like structure. Mi Hyun would eventually like to develop her own label, but is keen to work within an established Fashion House to develop her design ability within a commercial context. Email: University:
