Derek Lawlor is a contemporary Knitwear Designer and Central Saint Martins MA Graduate.
His graduate collection, inspired by Japanese body armor, was developed using a unique lace cord technique of wax cord to create organic sculptural shapes on tight fitting cashmere dresses.
Derek adapts techniques such as weaving to create three-dimensional patterns and unique fabric designs.  Long fringing finished with plastic dip, enhancing the modern edge to the collection, creates further visual movement away from the body.
Derek honed his skill by working with Designers such as Michiko Koshino, Alex Gore Browne and Japer Gardiva, building an impressive textile and fashion portfolio.
