Print specialist and Central Saint Martin’s alumni Hermione de Paula’s obsession with forced femininity and unconventional beauty creates a modern aesthetic that is both translated for women and inspired by them.
De Paula is recognised for her use of a softly printed silhouette that dissolves seamlessly into the contours of the female form, and her delicate hand painted and collaged prints with intricate trompe l’oeil designs.
De Paula’s S/S 2010 collection entitled
LAS VENUS:
“An Unconcious Elegance?” takes inspiration from Venus herself - inviting the wearer to both portray the muse and consider the modern, celebrity incarnations of this figure.
